HISTORY FILE:

Originally built in Decemeber 1990 & destined for Land Rover Japan & residing there until being repatriated in 2015 by a marque specialist.

Upon arrival in the UK, the car was inspected & found to have survived  exceptionally well, remianing very original. She then was purchased by a prominent classic car parts supplier for his private collection residing in Weybridge, Surrey.

During the summer of 2020, works were started to make this Range Rover into a superb example whilst retaining the all important charming & gentle patina acquired after thirty years of careful ownership.

The body was removed from the chassis & the underside was painstakingly stripped to the metal to asses exactly what required attention. The following was attended to; Fresh metal was let into the sills, front floor wells, rear wheels wells, rear inner wheel arches & rear inner quarters.

The boot floor, rear crossmember & the complete front inner wings were replaced with brand new & very high quality, bespoke panels with many invoices on file.

Other new items include, but not limited to, the following:

Replacement headlining, restored walnut veneers, leather preservation, fully galvanised mud-flap brackets, new OEM mud-flaps & stainless steel fixtures, galvanised suspension turrets with stainless steel fixing plates, galvanised body mounts & rubbers ...

All fabrication & welding work was carried out by the highly demanded & respected, Paul Arthur. Paul has three decades of experience in restoring classic & important vehicals. After all the metal works were completed, the areas were fully treated with epoxy primer, seam sealed, undercoated & finished before being liberally coated (internally & externally) with Waxoyl to preserve her for another lifetime. Fortunately, the original chassis was found to be corrosion free & has been fully cleaned & waxoyled.

Sadly after all of this effort & expense, the collection has now been reduced due to loss of storage here in the UK.

SUMMARY:

A fantastic example that has benefitted from a chassis upwards restoration programme with recent expenditure of circa £10k - plus the original purchase price of course! One not to be missed.
